Pile Burns & Burn-Offs

All pile burns and burn-offs require a permit once the official bushfire season is declared for our area.

Despite the recent rains across the Southern Highlands, this year's bushfire season again looks threatening ... so keep an eye out for warnings and related advice.

As well as RFS general advice [click here to download], specific information on backyard and farm pile burning can be found on the Wingecarribee Shire Council website [here], including interactive mapping allowing checks relating to individual properties.

Permits are generally not required outside of declared bushfire seasons, but neighbours still need to be notified at least 24 hours in advance, along with our Fire Control Centre on 4868 5500 - or you can use the notification form available here.
